Deadline is Approaching: OSHA Requirements for Asbestos Signage

Presco would like to remind all of our customers that the OSHA deadline for implementing changes to the Asbestos legends is approaching.  As of June 1, 2016, all signage must be in compliance with the new regulations.

The applicable provision in the Asbestos standard, 29 CFR 1910.1001, concerning the revised text of warning signs for regulated areas, may be found at paragraph 1910.1001(j)(4)(ii)(A), wherein the revised legend on the warning sign must read:

DANGER ASBESTOS MAY CAUSE CANCER CAUSES DAMAGE TO LUNGS AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY WEAR RESPIRATORY PROTECTION AND PROTECTIVE CLOTHING IN THIS AREA

As a result, all Presco legends have been changed to comply with these regulations.
