Installing safety products shouldn’t make an already demanding job more difficult.
To demonstrate the simplified installation of the EZ-Guy Wire Marker, we put it head-to-head against a traditional guy wire marker in a timed field test near our Presco facility in Sherman, Texas.
The result was a significant difference in installation time.
A traditional guy wire marker took 46 seconds to install onto the wire. The EZ-Guy Wire Marker took just 7 seconds.
That’s an 85% reduction in installation time in our demonstration.
Designed for Simple, Tool-Free Installation
The EZ-Guy Wire Marker is designed to simplify installation in the field. Its tool-free design allows the marker to easily snap directly onto the guy wire, reducing the time and effort required to get the marker in place.
While a difference of 39 seconds may seem small for a single installation, those savings quickly add up across a larger project.
Consider a lineman tasked with installing 100 guy wire markers. Based on the times recorded in our demonstration:
- Traditional marker: approximately 77 minutes
- EZ-Guy Wire Marker: approximately 12 minutes
- Total time saved: approximately 65 minutes
That means more than an hour of installation time could be saved across 100 markers.
Field Conditions Make Efficiency Matter
The demonstration was filmed in August near Sherman, Texas, where temperatures during our visit reached approximately 105°F. Even during our early-morning shoot at 8 am, temperatures were already above 90°F.
Conditions like these highlight why installation efficiency matters. Linemen and utility crews routinely work in demanding environments, and reducing the amount of time required to complete repetitive installation tasks can help crews spend less time performing manual work in difficult conditions.
Guy wire markers serve an important role by increasing the visibility of guy wires around utility infrastructure. The EZ-Guy Wire Marker combines that visibility with a design intended to make installation faster and easier.
For crews installing dozens—or even hundreds—of markers, a few seconds saved on each installation can quickly turn into meaningful time savings in the field.
